Food, Farm, and Climate Justice: A New Deal for a Just Transition
Eric Holt Giménez will speak at Hood River Best Western 8:30 – 10:00 AM Thurs Oct 3rd.
Eric Holt-Giménez, Ph.D. is the executive director of Food First/Institute for Food and Development Policy, one of the country’s most established food think tanks. Food First’s mission is to end the injustices that cause hunger, poverty and environmental degradation throughout the world.
In response to the climate crisis and loss of family scale farming, movements for farm, food and climate justice have emerged that are calling for sweeping reforms for a Just Transition away from an economy rooted in hierarchies, exploitation, and greed, to another focused on resilience and equity.
This event is sponsored by Provender Alliance, a Pacific NW organization of natural food businesses, individuals, and advocacy groups, and is part of the Provender Conference, held annually in Oct in Hood River.
Open to the public, tickets at the door, $15.
