Celebration of Maryhill and its Members with the following activities: Drive the Maryhill Loops Road | 10 a.m. to noon Take a spin past the beautiful scenery and through the eight majestic hairpin curves on the hsitoric Maryhill Loops Road. Free activity. Road is located just east of US 97 off of State Route 14. Annual Meeting of the Membership | 1 p.m. Curious about what’s going on at the museum? Join us as we fill you in on all the wonderful things we are doing at Maryhill; we’ll also share some of our plans for the future. Western Art 101 | 2 p.m. What makes a work of art uniquely “Western”? Join Maryhill’s curator of art Steve Grafe for a closer look at the motifs, genres and elements specific to the Western art tradition. Ranch Tour w/ Marty Hudson, Chair of the Ranchlands Committee | 3 to 4:30 p.m. Originally created as a Quaker farming community, Maryhill is a working ranch that includes cultural, historic and recreational sites. Visit the historic Maryhill Loops Road, Stonehenge Memorial, ranching operations, working wind turbines and much more. Space is limited; check at the membership desk to sign up for tours on arrival. Family Activities | 3 to 4:30 p.m. Wild Weavers: Using natural materials and a piece of chicken wire, create a woven design of your own. Pictograph Paintings: Using inspiration from Mayhill’s Native American Gallery, create your own pictographs using ricks and paint. Horseshoes: It wouldn’t be a real western themed event without a round of horseshoes! Western-Style BBQ | 4 p.m. Bob’s Texas T-Bone will be serving up chicken and ribs, coleslaw, beans, potatoes and dessert. Vegetarian option available. Drinks provided.
