Healing Yoga for Illness and Injury with Rayna Morton
Name: Healing Yoga for Illness and Injury with Rayna Morton
Date: March 11, 2017
Time: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM PST
This 2-hour workshop is designed to introduce you to how yoga can help you on your path to healing from injury or illness. Gentle practice will accompany discussion. Time will also be given to acknowledge your pain and discomfort, mental and physical limitations, with the intention of allowing the process of letting go and moving forward. There will be a gentle practice, so bring plenty of props like pillows, blankets, blocks and straps to help ensure comfort for your practice. A water bottle and a journal is recommended.
For the additional 1 hour CE portion for RYT’s, this course will cover how to make appropriate adjustments/assists when teaching a class to someone with a healing body. We will discuss various emotional, physical, and spiritual limitations of a body recovering from injury, illness, trauma or age related issues. This class counts towards 3 contact hours and 1 non-contact hour of CE credit for yoga instructors. (CE students will receive further information required for the course prior to the class and there is a minimum for CE students of 5 participants)
About Rayna Dhara, Your Teacher
“When we step onto our mat to heal, we take a moment of devotion to this vessel which carries us here during our life on this beautiful Earth. In this devotion, we slow our mind, body and breathe down so that we may tune in and so that we may listen. We take time to honor the scars, the pain, the discomfort that our body endures in its desire to be our vessel for life. Today treat your practice as an homage to your body, to your vessel, to your life.” – Rayna Dhara.
